I like both of the pesidental canidates, well parts of them, anyway. My big topics are pro-life, finances and the environment. Interestingly enough, that covers both Dems and Repubs. Instead of putting my hope in a canidate, which is absurd come to think of it, I've decided to use my own power to change the world. So here's what I am doing:
We're going green...all the way green. If I think the environment is so super important why am I not doing all in my power to make my acre of land healthier? I am starting with our garbage. It started yesterday when I was trying to explain to the kiddos where our trash goes. The question arrose: Why are we dumping our waste on someone else's land - isn't all land equally important? Come to think of it, yes, it is so lets start acting like it. What this means is everything that comes into our house is used, recycled, burned (paper), composted or turned into art - nothing goes into a landfill. So guess what? everyone gets tin can art for Christmas and the landfills will have 7,300 lbs less garbage :) Next on the list is petro.
Pro-life - God knows I want another child like nothing else, is it time to start doing something about it? If pro-life is an important issue to me I need to act like it by donating my time and money. So I am praying that God puts someone in my life that needs me (oooh, that's a little scary) and I have the ability to do something about it. A friend told me a while ago that she was pro-abortion because she felt she didn't have the right to tell another woman to have a baby because my friend wasn't going to buy diapers or clothes for it. Well I don't want to be that person who tells another what to do but then nevers helps. My pocketbook is open along with my heart to a woman, child, or baby who needs me.
I have Ed Bigley Jr's book Living Like Ed all about goin' all green! If Kermit thinks green is cool then I'm in!

So you can totally borrow that book is what I meant to say. If you haven't already read it. It's pretty cool and lots of great ideas!
